Hot Friend: i think im going to trip the next person that asks me if im nervous about tomorrow
Hot Friend: how can so many people think that is a good question to ask?
Me: cuz they think they are the only witty person in the world
Me: so they are the first to ask
Hot Friend: *stabbity*
Me: but you will let them know they aren’t when you stab them in the temple with your wedding shoes
Me: then you can walk down the aisle on the hopes and dreams of those witty people

and I had to show off my nifty iconage that made for me

Common Windows Errors and hopefully fixes

December 30th, 2005 | Category: Uncategorized

Getting?
** (gimp-2.0.exe:4294830849): WARNING **: Couldn't load font “MS Sans Serif 8″ falling back to “Sans 8″

or even

Pango-ERROR **: file shape.c line 75 > (pango_shape): assertion failed: (glyphs->num_glyphs > 0) and when I click OK, it crashes

First try changing your system fonts
You can do this two ways:
First

  1. Click on Start
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Double-Click on Control Panel
  4. Double-Click on Display
  5. Click on the appearance tab - This should be where you can change fonts in Win98/2k
  6. If you have XP then you need to click on the advanced button here
  7. Change your fonts to Tahoma or any other Truetype Font

The second method is a bit quicker

  1. Right-Click on a blank part of your desktop
  2. Left-Click Properties
  3. Click on the appearance tab - This should be where you can change fonts in Win98/2k
  4. If you have XP then you need to click on the advanced button here
  5. Change your fonts to Tahoma or any other Truetype Font

If this doesn't work and you installed the GTK+ package provided by the gimp-win site. Try reinstalling the GTK+ package, but do not install the GTK-Wimp componant.

Gimp appears to hang while loading fonts

  • If it's the first time you've run The GIMP, it may be indexing your fonts. This may take a few minutes to complete.
  • If The GIMP always takes a long time to scan your fonts, go to your user profile directory (typically C:\Documents and Settings\\ and delete the .fonts.cache-1 file.
  • Some people reported that Gimp hangs or crashes if you have a font called Profont installed. Remove it, and try running Gimp again.
  • These seem to be the most common questions asked , I am marking this as a memory in my memories and xposting to . If anybody has a problem not on here or might want some more common problems, I am more than willing to help and see if I can find an answer and edit this entry.
