photo credit: anita.marie This day each year is a day which I celebrate twice!  Why?   Well first and foremost it is my kiddo’s bday and she is more than happy to let all people around her know this.  If she could she would probably run up and down the street knocking on doors and letting all our neighbors know that it is her birthday.  Second, well, that would be me celebrating the fact that I have been able to keep a human being alive for another year!  I know what you’re all thinking, I rarely pat myself on the back or declare my superiority, but on this day I think I’ve done a really good job with kiddo.

photo credit: honor the giftSo it is that time of year again, where we dress up the colonization of the US and the removal of the indigenous people as awesome.  Now I have no beef with the holiday itself, just more of it’s portrayal.  I can agree and ascribe that the Native Americans had pity on the pilgrims and helped em out with a solid, but it didn’t stop there.  You know being a people of reciprocation they gave back with small pox and other diseases.  Some solid stealing of land and last of all the slaughter of Native Americans throughout the whole westward progression. Sounds like a good trade if you ask me.  Now before everybody goes all, but your parents wouldn’t have met without this progress,  or look at the luxury you live in!  I will admit that for me, the events turned out pretty good.  Im part of a loving biracial family that has some pretty good looking specimens in it, I have a solid Native American family that helps me remember that big families equal more love, and I know how to make other people uncomfortable while making jokes about my racial background.  Regardless of my feelings on it’s portrayal, Thanksgiving has always been a good holiday for me.

This week has been interesting as have the few before it. this week I managed to blunder my way into organizing a night out to the Pulse in less than 5 mins. It was very cool and fortuitous. I’ve known she’s wanted to be out and about, but it’s hard with no car and no money. We pulled it off and had a smasing time. I think I only got 2 or 3 pics of the night. I have the best bride and groomsmen on the planet. My bachelor party was great success until it was just about over. Then everything went wrong. I blacked out so I personally don’t know what happened but through the stories and friends I’ve been able to piece together a small part of that drama. Needless to say I know Im marrying the woman of my dreams and my friends are just so kewl. The only person I kind of got irate at the next day was my cousin who called me to tell me how horrible and terrible I was the night before. No friggin shite! I don’t need you to rub it in, I had a hang over and I felt like an ass you don’t need to rub it in. All I can say is that Im happy to still be around and grateful that nobody seems to hold any ill will towards me for the events of that night. While I was coherent it was a great night though. Lately I’ve been kind of down. I’ve been thinking about and I think I have the answer to my problem. Im already missing my past life. I sat there thinking about it and looking at all my pictures, and I’ve gotten a few calls from friends asking me to go out and celebrate graduations or landmarks in their lives. It depesses me to know that I used to do all that on a whim. I used to travel and disappear for days at a time. Now. I have to grow up and be responsible. So as many of you may or may not know, had a date Sat night. Well I had planned on a good V-day style type of date to “ease” us back into the whole dating scene. We procured a babysitter in H’s parents and lil sister so was taken care of and the night was set. Until I got a call saying that someone who was helping me with my plan was out of town. No biggie, just gotta come up with a backup plan. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, two hours and nothing I couldn’t find a single place that would accommodate what I wanted to do so I went home distraught. When H actually had the greatest idea well almost ever. She suggested a local eatery which my co-workers RAVE about. Jennifer James Contemporary Cuisine. We called for re sos and got in for a 9:30 slot, I felt pretty high class needing resos. So we leave our pad round 7 ish and get Ri to her babysitter safely, the proceed to O’Niell’s for cocktails. We had one or two more than planned on before dinner but we enjoyed our chat time. Yep, sho nuff, there is a new life in the world. She was born last night 6:52PM, lil Riley, she’s out and about, had a few complications, but she is recovering…I am just loggin on to say this and say see ya’ll, if you guys in town wanna see her, just give a call she knows all tha deets of when and where. Alright so today I kinda start to chill and have a good day. Well I take mah gurlie to her meet point for her camping trip and then I go to the bank to cash my checks. Finally, I wanted to her bday present she’s been so patiently waiting for. Well I go to get it and low and behold there is an Ultimate Box Set for Escaflowne! Whoot whoot! It cost a pretty penny, but when all is said and done it kinda makes the wait worth it, ja? I got nothing done tonight except take and hour nap and pound the daylights outta AIs in DOA2: Hardcore. So now I have to try and finish my homework for Acct, I detest that class and my view on homework for it isn’t helping…I best check the drop dates and such and see if I can finish tonight.
