photo credit: honor the giftSo it is that time of year again, where we dress up the colonization of the US and the removal of the indigenous people as awesome.  Now I have no beef with the holiday itself, just more of it’s portrayal.  I can agree and ascribe that the Native Americans had pity on the pilgrims and helped em out with a solid, but it didn’t stop there.  You know being a people of reciprocation they gave back with small pox and other diseases.  Some solid stealing of land and last of all the slaughter of Native Americans throughout the whole westward progression. Sounds like a good trade if you ask me.  Now before everybody goes all, but your parents wouldn’t have met without this progress,  or look at the luxury you live in!  I will admit that for me, the events turned out pretty good.  Im part of a loving biracial family that has some pretty good looking specimens in it, I have a solid Native American family that helps me remember that big families equal more love, and I know how to make other people uncomfortable while making jokes about my racial background.  Regardless of my feelings on it’s portrayal, Thanksgiving has always been a good holiday for me.

Blessed with wierd mix of Native American and white hair genes, I found one which caused my hair to thin up top while leaving a bunch of hair everywhere else. So I solved it by getting rid of it all.

So yesterday started out as every other day does. I crawl out of bed, try to get ready quickly and mooch a ride off my wife to the bus stop. Everything was normal, pretty much, just working on stuff here and there doin mah thang. I leave work a little later than quitting time, trying to save up some time so I can leave work early on friday. As I walk to the bus stop I get a call from my beloved friends E and P. I love them to death, though I feel like they can be dramalicious at times. I think they are calling to remind me of E’s bday party tonight, but no they are calling because they have two extra tickets to Ozzfest! W00t! I call my wife she declines, but says I can go, yeah baby! I will the bus to arrive sooner so I can get home and change. Read more

Uh huh, Im a lil excited.  I am working for a small local ISP, doing web design and tech support.  I don’t know how much they are paying me, but as long as it’s $8 or ab ove Im ok.  It’s something I think I’ll like and enjoy.  Besides I’ll get to design some pages for my portfolio…wheeeee.  I shall report back when I have something other than happy noises to type.

So I’ve been “let go” from my job. I figured it’d be coming, but not this soon. I think I am just more irrate at the timing rather than the actual firing. We were trying to get a car and get daycare taken care of for the lil one. I’ve already got a line on a new job and I hope that they call with the good news soon. I am calling around trying to get infor on businesses that ask for a faxed resume. You know I figure if I have the right company name on my cover letter that might make me a bit more hirable. Im also looking into teller positions, I think my wife would appreciate me having to dress up for work everyday. She likes it when I dress up. I am still looking for a car since that would aid in my job search and moving around the city to get to my future job. Read more

I’ve recently noticed, as many have noticed eons before me, that my journal is well kind of a dumbed down version of me. Not really a dumbed down version justa more simplistic version. My friends say they can see the internet candy kid in their minds. Then we talk and I tend to be large wordy in real life now, I often get asked what words mean or if they are even real words. I blame my families propensity for using larger words around the dinner table. Odd how I took for granted that we ate meals together almost all the time. In this day and age it makes me want to make sure that we eat together on a more regular basis. I think with H back in school it has gotten me a bit more motivated to get shite done. I want to get out table back into usable form and make more homemade meals. This week alone I’ve cooked twice as much as usual and Im not too torn up about it. The only thing that caught me off guard was the fact that I spent almost $40 to make fajitas last night. I did a pretty decent job for a fly by night operation. I blame the cheese for that price tag. So now I have to get my ass to the income assistance office so I can grab myself a list of the supported daycares and find one that can be bussed to easily for H and I. Read more
