Dealing with my diabetes

I kinda fell off the earth for a while, but Im hoping to pick up again.

I was diagnosed Dec. 7th 2007 and have managed to get down from an average BSL of 400 to 100-200.  Sadly complications arose, and I being the thick headed jerk-face I am, started to rebel against everybody who tried to help me.  I ran into a bit of trouble with my prescriptions around Feb 2009 with the pharmacy and just stopped taking everything.  Not only that my favorite bag which carried all my electornics was stolen mid summer, which also had my meter in it!  Well Nov 2009, rolled around, and I had a complication due to my BSL running high.  The prize?  A perirectal abcess, ohhh so fun.  After a 20 hour wait in the ER and then almost another 24 hrs in the ER itself I finally went under for surgery.  I was reprimanded for my cavalier attitude and now have been put on a different regimen of things.  Fortunately, while I was recovering from my surgeryI recieved another free monitor!  Oh how I love IHS, and UNMH now. For those interested, this is my monitor.

I am also on a cocktail of:
25 units of Lantus twice a day.
15ish units of Humalog taken with meals, adjusted as needed.
Metformin 1 500mg pills taken with dinner, this is to combat my high fasting numbers.

I will admit I am a bit sheepish with how I acted but something snapped and I just didn’t want to deal with the world at large.  Well as I heal up Im hoping to have more exercise goin and hope to get back on track with my control.
